Someday, should I ever be in the situation where I’m taking a long look back at my illustrious media career’s path, I’ll have to give due respect to Bob Knight’s amazing ability to not give a damn.
During the Big 12 Championship final in Kansas City on Saturday, Knight decided during the game between Missouri and Baylor that his craving couldn’t go unanswered. So, during the ESPN telecast, he demolished an ice cream cone. Didn’t set it down until it was gone.
Ice cream’s power is forever. It made Bob Knight grin like a 5-year old, and it got me on Deadspin.
(And by the way, since we’re looking at people, the Kansas City Star’s Blair Kerkhoff is all the way to your left, then me, then 610 Sports’ Danny Parkins’ head is over Knight’s left shoulder, then Bill Reiter of FoxSports.com has his hand on his mouth.)
