UPDATE (08/18/12): Hours after a couple of Arkansas media members first tweeted that they had received a text saying Sam Harvill had been located, the Riley County Police Department confirmed Harvill’s well-being Saturday morning.
According to the RCPD release, Harvill was “safely located by law enforcement.”
Grant Merrill, one of the Arkansas media members to receive a text message, told CurtisKitchen.com that the news came from a “very close friend of the family. No uncertainty whatsoever.”
Harvill was first reported missing by his mother, and had not been accounted for since Wednesday.

(08/17/12) – Kansas State football player Sam Harvill is still missing as of Friday morning. The Riley County Police Department issued a release at 9 a.m., stating: “The Riley County Police Department continues to follow up on information it has received from the public since the original report was filed.”
The release also said that no RCDP employees would comment further, with any additional information coming via press release.
Harvill, who is not on the official K-State football roster but has been described as still a part of the program, was first reported missing by his mother. The original release stated that she contacted RCPD at 11:18 a.m. on Aug. 16 (Thursday) to report her son missing.
Kristi Harvill reported that her son, 20 year old Kansas State University student-athlete Samuel Harvill had not been seen since 1:30 PM yesterday (Wednesday). The RCPD is currently attempting to contact Mr. Harvill to check his welfare.
He may be in a Silver 2005 Dodge R15 Pick-up truck with large tires and black rims.
