Marcus Morris ticketed after Lawrence bar fight

by

Former University of Kansas standout Marcus Morris was ticketed for his involvement in a local bar fight early Sunday morning, following KU’s thrilling come-from-behind win over Missouri in Lawrence.

According to Lawrence television 6 News’ website:

Officers were called at 2:37 a.m. Sunday to The Cave, a bar located in the lower level of The Oread, 1200 Oread. Morris, 22, was one of two men ticketed following the dispute.

“A male employee was allegedly punched by another man after a verbal dispute turned physical,” said Kim Murphree, police spokeswoman. “Another man allegedly punched the employee from behind.”

Morris and his twin brother Markieff were in attendance at Saturday afternoon’s basketball game.

The Cave is the same establishment where current Jayhawk Thomas Robinson was originally cited for misdemeanor battery last April following a fight involving bar staff. He was accused of hitting someone during the altercation and spitting on a bouncer. The charge was dismissed last August after the victim did not want to move forward with prosecution.
