I’m not nearly the chipped or edgy personality I was a few years ago (something I attribute directly to not working crazy hours for no money in radio), but Matt Woodrum’s video slammed me in the head with perspective yesterday.
I saw his “Run with Me” story on ESPN on Sunday morning, and had to wipe away tears before they flooded my cup of coffee. They weren’t tears of sympathy; just simply of incredible admiration for a kid who obviously has a handle on life that few ever get regardless of age or situation.
The video of the then fifth-grader’s 400m run last spring, with cerebral palsy, will change you if you let it. I’m saying you should let it.
You can watch the same TV package I saw yesterday here.
