Earlier this week, Miami Hurricanes defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio appeared on 560 WQAM’s “Hurricane Hotline” radio show with hosts Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey, Jr. After a breakdown of the ‘Canes win over Boston College, the group discussed at length Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein.
Beginning at about the 13:00 mark of the 25-minute interview, D’Onofrio spoke with respect on what Klein brings to the table and then provided some decent insight into how he is preparing his defense for Saturday’s game.
How much respect did the show pay Klein?
“If Collin Klein played for Notre Dame, or Florida, or one of those… Alabama, LSU, he’d win the Heisman Trophy.”
D’Onofrio didn’t argue.
